Meet the dynamic duo, Miles and Michell Roberts, your delightful hosts with a story as diverse as the landscapes they’ve explored. Hailing from different corners of the United States, Michell, a proud Hoosier from Indiana, and Miles, a Californian and self-described “old surfing hippie”, have shared nearly three decades of adventures together.
Their journey began in North Carolina, where they established their roots and still maintain a home to reconnect with friends and family. Miles, following a long career at Goodyear, transitioned into retirement with a remarkable chapter as a volunteer firefighter. He ascended to the role of Fire Chief, leading the department for five impactful years with a total of 15 dedicated years of service.
Michell’s professional journey led her through the bustling world of food service, where she managed the deli and bakery operations for several major grocery store chains. Her expertise and leadership made her a valuable asset to the industry and now she channels her energy and enthusiasm to delight resort guests.
As the years passed, the couple decided to embark on a new adventure, taking to the open road to explore the beauty of the country. They embraced roles at campgrounds in Florida and Arizona, soaking in diverse experiences that each location had to offer.
In 2020, their journey led them to Port St. Joe, where they found a sense of home. The couple settled in, bringing their wealth of experiences to this charming community. Whether it’s the sandy shores of the beach or the vibrant scenes of Apalachicola, Miles and Michell know how to savor life’s moments, indulging in local restaurants and shopping.
Family is at the heart of their story, with two grown children and a cherished granddaughter who undoubtedly bring joy and warmth to their lives. The household is further filled with the pitter-patter of tiny paws belonging to Bandit and Bella, their beloved Morkies. And, of course, no home is complete without the presence of CC, the resident “Campground Cat.”
Their vibrant spirits and rich experiences make them the perfect hosts, ensuring that every guest feels the warmth and hospitality that define the Roberts’ journey. So, whether you’re seeking a relaxing beach day or want to explore the area, Miles and Michell are ready to make your stay unforgettable.
