Located just minutes from the pristine beaches of Northwest Florida, Port St. Joe RV Resort has established itself since July 2022 as a retreat for outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and snowbirds.
The brand-new bayfront RV resort, managed with a focus on preserving the natural environment, provides a gateway to the unspoiled beaches and the crystal-clear waters of Saint Joseph Bay.
A stone’s throw from the site where Florida’s first constitution was penned, the resort offers history buffs and nature lovers a unique blend of education and recreation.
According to resort managers Miles and Michell Roberts, the resort’s location is a prime spot for guests seeking solace in nature without straying too far from the comforts of town.
“We’re a mile from downtown Port St. Joe,” the Roberts couple explained during an exclusive interview with Modern Campground, highlighting the proximity to dining, shopping, local culture, and many more.
“We’re close to a lot of different beaches that are within 10-15 minutes away,” Michell Roberts elaborated. “Downtown offers numerous restaurants, boutiques, clothing and antique shops… We have three different marinas in case they want to launch a boat.”
Outdoors, the resort caters to a robust selection of activities. Guests can enjoy everything from snorkeling to scuba diving and boating and fishing. The town itself adds to the appeal, with various festivities throughout the year that are open to the public.
“Town has a lot of activities and festivities that go on during the year,” she further elaborated. “It’s free to the public whoever wants to come and join in.”

The fishing charters offer a tailored experience for those eager to explore the local waters. Whether guests are interested in a brief half-day trip to see what’s biting or a more intensive fishing excursion, the options are versatile.
“You can choose between fishing inshore or flats, going for Flounder, Redfish, Trout or King Mackerel, Black Drum, Mahi Mahi, Spanish Mackerel… the list just keeps going,” Miles Roberts said. “Your targeted species will depend on the season and what is biting best.”
Meanwhile, Roberts emphasizes community engagement through events that bring together visitors and residents. One such event is “First Friday,” where local shops stay open late, allowing guests to mingle and shop while enjoying the temperate evening air.
“We have a senior center located in town that offers activities throughout the month,” Miles Robert added. “We also have the Joe Center for Arts that does a lot of activities: they do a Sip n Paint, as well as offering workshops.”
For the winter season, Port St. Joe RV Resort becomes a sanctuary for snowbirds — those who travel south seeking warmer climates. “We have a lot of snowbirds,” Michell Roberts remarks, indicating the growing trend of winter travel to outdoor destinations.
Furthermore, Miles Roberts discussed the community-focused environmental initiatives undertaken at the RV Resort, emphasizing their commitment to ecological responsibility. He noted the use of environmentally safe bags and other biodegradable materials.
“We invite the local area and the RV Resort guests and we do a beach cleanup,” Miles Roberts said. “We only use environmentally safe bags… they’re all made up out of corn. They’re disposable, they are biodegradable. So it won’t hurt the environment. We don’t use the plastic.”
